Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

freelancerlife is operated by Workodin LLC. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what we do with it. We've written it to be read, not just filed.

Who we are

freelancerlife.co is an independent editorial publication for independent professionals. It is operated by Workodin LLC and backed by PayOdin. Our contact email is hello@freelancerlife.co.

What we collect

We collect two types of data depending on how you use the site:

  • Analytics data — if you accept cookies, we use Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager) to understand how people find and read articles: pages visited, time on page, general location (country/city), device type, and referral source. This data is aggregated and anonymous.
  • Newsletter data — if you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address. Nothing else.

We do not collect names, payment details, or any sensitive personal data. We do not run advertising or build user profiles.

Cookies

We use cookies only for analytics, and only with your consent. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and no data is sent to Google. Your preference is stored in your browser's local storage.

Cookies used when analytics consent is granted:

  • _ga, _ga_* — Google Analytics. Expire after 2 years. Used to distinguish unique visitors.
  • _gid — Google Analytics. Expires after 24 hours.

You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser's local storage or cookies for freelancerlife.co.

How we use your data

  • Analytics data is used to understand which articles are useful, where readers come from, and how the site performs. We use this to decide what to write next.
  • Newsletter email addresses are used to send the weekly email. We do not sell, share, or rent email addresses to third parties.

Third-party services

  • Google Analytics — analytics, subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Google Tag Manager — tag management container. Does not send data unless tags are configured to do so.
  • Cloudflare — hosting, CDN, and DDoS protection. Processes request data as described in Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

Data retention

Analytics data is retained for 14 months in Google Analytics, after which it is automatically deleted. Newsletter email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to or restrict how it is processed. To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@freelancerlife.co and we will respond within 30 days.

If you are in the European Economic Area, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Children

freelancerlife is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
